We want this website and our practice to be usable by as many people as possible, including people with disability. This page sets out what we are working toward, what currently works, and what does not yet.
We would rather tell you where the gaps are than claim a standard we have not met. If something here prevents you accessing our services, please tell us. Contact details are at the bottom.
Visiting the practice
Our rooms are at Suite 1, Level 7, 26 College Street, Darlinghurst NSW 2010.

If you have access needs we have not covered here, contact us before your appointment and we will do what we can to accommodate them.
Telehealth is available for all appointments. If travelling to the practice is difficult for any reason, including disability, distance, fatigue or anxiety, you can be seen by video or phone instead. You do not need to explain why.
Other ways we can make appointments work
- Auslan interpreters. Tell us in advance and we will arrange one.
- Longer appointments if you need more time to communicate or process.
- Written summaries of what was discussed, if that helps you more than remembering it.
- Support people. You are welcome to bring someone.
- Documents in other formats. Large print, plain text or another format on request. Just ask, and you do not need to explain why.
The website
We are working toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the World Wide Web Consortium. This is the benchmark commonly applied under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth).
We do not currently meet it in full. What follows is what we know.
What works
- Images across the site carry descriptions that screen readers can read aloud
- Article links are named, so a screen reader announces what each one leads to
- There is a skip link, so keyboard users can move past the menu to the content
- The site works on mobile and reflows when you increase text size
What does not work yet
- Some text does not have enough colour contrast. The tan text used in the menu, in “Read more” links, and in some crisis helpline links sits below the required ratio. It may be hard to read in bright light or with low vision. We are fixing this.
- Some pages are missing headings that would help screen reader users navigate, and on some pages the heading order skips levels.
- Some pages lack a main content marker, so screen reader users cannot jump straight to the content.
- Some links say only “Read more” or “Find out more.” Read aloud out of context, these do not say where they go.
- Two diagrams contain text inside the image, on the Understanding Bipolar page and the Services page. The information is also written out in text beneath each one.
- Our online booking system is provided by a third party and we do not control its accessibility. If you cannot use it, phone or email us and we will book you in.
About the accessibility widget
You will see an accessibility widget on our pages, provided by UserWay. It offers tools such as larger text, adjusted contrast and paused animations.
We want to be straightforward about what it is. It is a convenience layer, not a fix. Widgets of this kind do not repair the underlying structure of a website, and many people who use screen readers turn them off. It does not replace the work listed above.
If the widget gets in your way, you can close it and the site will work the same.

Tell us what you were trying to do and where you got stuck. If you can say which browser, device or assistive technology you use, that helps us reproduce the problem, but do not worry if you would rather not.
If we cannot fix something quickly, we will tell you what we can do instead and roughly when a proper fix will land.
How this page is maintained
We review this statement at least every six months, and whenever we make a significant change to the website or the practice. The review date is at the top of this page.
